Pair arrested on weapons charges in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Two men are behind bars

Tuesday evening, Dover Police were assisting Delaware Probation and Parole with a firearms investigation involving 20-year-old Terrence Mears and a residence in the 300 block of Charring Cross Drive. Mears was taken into custody at Probation and Parole and was taken to the residence while an administrative search was conducted.

At the residence, police also arrested 18-year-old Jaiden Rivera, who was found in possession of a firearm concealed in his waistband.

During the search, Probation and Parole found a .22 caliber rifle, ammunition, and marijuana.

Rivera was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was held at SCI on a $10,000 cash bail.

Mears was charged with two counts of a possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He was held at SCI on a $25,000.
