John E. Pauley, 27, and Amanda K. Chen, 25, of Harrington, Del.

Milford Police say they charged a man and a woman after an investigation into a shoplifting incident at the Milford Walmart Supercenter.

25-year-old Amanda Chen and 27-year-old John E. Pauley, both of Harrington, allegedly on multiple occassions took items from the store and fraudulently returned them with old receipts.

Milford Police say Walmart's asset protection department discovered the suspicious activity and reported it to them on January 19th.

Police located and arrested Chen on Tuesday, charging her with possession of shoplifter's tools, two counts of shoplifting under $1,500, two counts of theft by false pretense, three counts of use of illegitimate retail sales receipt and third degree conspiracy. Her bail was set at $6,000 unsecured.

Pauley is already in custody by the Delaware Department of Correction for a different incident, police said. Police will charge him with possession of shoplifter's tools, two counts of shoplifting under $1,500 and conspiracy third degree. He is set to appear before a Justice of he Peace Court on Tuesday.
