Smyrna Police arrest man in connection to armed robbery of a delivery driver
SMYRNA, Del. – Police say they have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery of a delivery driver that happened in late January.
Patrol officers from the Smyrna Police Department responded to the 400 block of W Mt Vernon St for a reported armed robbery. It was then learned that a delivery driver for Pat’s Select was making a food delivery at this location when a male wearing a mask and armed with a knife approached him and demanded money and property from him. When the driver handed over cash, the suspect fled on foot.
Through subsequent investigation, police identified 29-year-old Joshua Brown of Smyrna as the suspect who placed the delivery order and robbed the driver. Brown was arrested without incident on Monday and charged with first degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. He is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $86,000 secured bond.
