Millsboro suspect turns himself in to police

MILLSBORO, Del. – The Delaware State Police have arrested Justin Shifflett of Millsboro who was wanted in connection with a domestic related assault and strangulation.

The incident occurred back on February 26th when troopers responded to Oak Orchard Road in Millsboro, for a report of verbal domestic that turned physical.

Officials say the victim was assaulted by Shifflett, her husband, when he grabbed her throat and struck her face.

The Victim attempted to call 911 but 47 year old Shifflet smacked the phone out of her hand.

Shifflet then took her vehicle and fled from the residence.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and refused treatment.

Shifflet turned himself into Troop 4 On March 5th.

Justin Shifflett is charged with Strangulation, Assault Third Degree, Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications.

He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and taken to the Sussex Correctional Institution.

He is being held on a $16,200.00 cash only bond.
