Wicomico Co. Health Department issues Extreme Heat Advisory

SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Health Department has issued an Extreme Heat Advisory as heat index values are expected to rise to 100 degrees or above.

Residents are reminded to stay cool and well hydrated, as they can quickly develop a heat-related illness that can become life-threatening if not properly treated.

Some tips to combat this heat include staying indoors, scheduling outdoor activities before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m., and drinking plenty of fluids without caffeine, sugar, or alcohol.
