The Maryland General Assembly censures Del. Mary Ann Lisanti

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Maryland General Assembly voted unanimously Thursday to censure Harford democratic Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti.

Meaning Lisanti is no longer allowed to attend her Harford County Democratic Central committee and vote, her name would be removed, and she would only be allowed to vote on the house floor.

Lisanti is under fire for using a racial slur to describe Prince George’s County in an Annapolis Cigar Bar.

She issued an apology for referring to the county as an “N-word district”, many feel the apology was not enough.

The NAACP is planning a press conference Friday, calling for Del. Lisanti resignation.

We reached out to Gerald Stansbury, the president of the Maryland NAACP, who says the next step after the vote to censure is to see the Delegate resign.
