Dover man shot in the head at local hotel, police searching for suspect

DOVER, Del. – Police are investigating after a Dover man was shot in the head at a local hotel.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:59 p.m., Tuesday as troopers were dispatched to the Best Western on East Lebanon Road in Dover for reports of a shooting.

Troopers arrived and found a 23-year-old Dover man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim entered the suspect’s vehicle to purchase marijuana. During the exchange, police say the victim was shot by an unidentified male suspect.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle believed to be a white Toyota Camry with damage to the passenger side, between the front and rear door. At this time, there is no additional information regarding the suspect.
