Wicomico Sheriff’s Deputy honored as “First Responder Who Makes A Difference”
SALISBURY, Md. – On Thursday, 47 ABC WMDT teamed up with four Tire Pro locations to honor a First Responder Who Makes a Difference for the month of June. Those Tire Pro locations include Burnett White Tire Pros in Salisbury, Nock’s Tire Pros in Pocomoke, Cook’s Tire Pros in Harrington and In & Out Tire Pros in Millsboro. June’s nominee is Deputy First Class Aaron Holler from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Department.
“So many good people do so many good things here at the Sheriff’s office. To be recognized, to be singled out, is a great honor,” says DFC Holler.
Holler was nominated for going above and beyond in his job. He is a veteran, who also currently has two sons serving in the military. It seems fitting that Holler volunteers with Operation We Care, a non-profit group that sends care packages to those serving in the military.
He described the honor as shocking and says he is just one of many at the Department trying to do good in the community.
“This is what we are called to do, it’s kind of like a calling. So we do what we do because it’s in our hearts, it just who we are,” says Holler. “These guys go out there and they do their job every signle day without thinking about, you know, thanks, or a pat on the back, so it means a lot.”
The four Tire Pro locations gave DFC Holler a gift basket filled with goodies like a car wash gift card, Tire pro gift cards, a roadside repair kit and much more. Now Holler is entered into a drawing to win a grand prize this December of a new set of tires valued at $1000.
One first responder will be honored each month June through November, leading into the grand prize drawing. Enter one you think is making a difference in the community here.
