MILLSBORO, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a New Castle man after he was found in possession of stolen property Wednesday afternoon.

Shortly before 1 p.m., troopers responded to Holly Lake Campground in Millsboro for a welfare check on a man who was found slumped over the steering wheel of a pickup truck. Troopers made contact with the man, identified as 41-year-old Christopher Lyons, and found an empty heroin baggie on his shorts. Troopers found a backpack blower and power saw in the truck bed, discovering that the blower was reported stolen by the Kennesaw Police Department in Georgia last month, and the power saw was reported stolen by the Duncanville Police Department in Texas in October 2020. It was also learned that the truck was reported stolen by the New Castle County Police Department in August 2022, and Lyons was wanted by both Troop 1 and the Wilmington Police Department for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Lyons was charged with receiving stolen property over $1500, two counts of receiving stolen property under $1500, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $2,050 cash and $4,000 secured bonds.
