Colonel Richardson wins Class 1A East Regional Title

FEDERALSBURG, Md.– Colonel Richardson defeated North Dorchester 5-4 in extra innings on Tuesday afternoon to win the class 1A east regional championship.

North Dorchester would get things going first off an RBI bunt from Devin Rottman. The Eagles would jump out in front 2-0, but Colonel would respond right back.

Camron Gondeck would drive in a run in the bottom of the first to bring the lead within 1. Colonel would take the lead in the bottom of the 4th of a wild pitch and sacrifice bunt.

Both North Dorchester and Colonel Richardson would score in extra innings to make it a 4-4 ballgame. In the bottom of the 10th that’s when it would change. Senior catcher Carter Walters would step into the box with runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. Walters would connect and drive one right through the second baseman’s legs to drive in the winning runs and walk it off for Colonel.
