DNREC officials warn to keep off dunes

With predictions of snow in the forecast this weekend, folks might be tempted to go sledding or snowboarding.
However DNREC officials are warning residents and visitors to not use the dunes for those purposes.
Officials say the dunes have already received damage from recent storms and serve a very important purpose for our beaches.
"There are several ecological and rare plants that live there. There is animals and also it protects any kinds of of structure we have here," says Patrick Cooper, the DNREC Regional Manager.
Cooper saws if folks are caught on the dunes they can be ticketed by an officer.
