Two UMES students taken to hospital after eating “tainted edibles”

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. –  Two UMES students had to be taken to the hospital overnight after ingesting what we’re told were “tainted edibles,” thought to be brownies.

UMES officials confirmed this Sunday with 47ABC, adding it took place in student housing on campus.

Campus police were alerted after a 9-1-1 call was made. We’re told both students were released from the hospital Sunday morning and are back on campus with spring semester classes beginning Monday.

Campus police are following through to determine what caused the victims to become briefly ill, and who was responsible.
