Shoplifting investigation leads to recovery of stolen vehicle in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Two people were arrested on Thursday after a shoplifting investigation led to the recovery of ammunition and a stolen vehicle.

The investigation began at around 5:15 p.m. when officers responded to a reported shoplifting at Lidl in Dover. Staff reported that the suspects fled in a gray Jeep SUV with Pennsylvania registration. Officers familiar with a female, identified as 19-year-old Aliah Stone, believed she may be involved based on the description provided by Lidl staff.

Officers know Stone to frequent the unit block of Stevenson Drive, so they responded to the area, locating a gray Jeep occupied by Stone and 18-year-old Cam’ron Jackson. Both were taken into custody, and 9mm ammunition was found in the center console. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen on February 11, 2023, and it was determined that Jackson was responsible for taking the vehicle.

Stone was held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $9,000 cash bail for possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and receiving stolen property. She was also held on a $1,000 secured bail for shoplifting and third degree conspiracy.

Jackson was held at SCI on $8,000 cash bail for possession of ammunition by a person prohibited, and a $2,000 secured bail for theft of a motor vehicle. He was also charged with shoplifting and conspiracy.
