2023 Mid-Atlantic Regional Summit focuses on Delaware’s impact on the world

DELAWARE – State and federal leaders, non-profit leaders, and business professionals from across country met with Senator Chris Coons Monday for the annual Mid-Atlantic Regional Summit.

The event was hosted U.S. Global Leadership Coalition, with the focus was on Delaware’s relationship with the world.

This included ways to grow business exports and mitigate global climate change impacts.

Senator Coons says the small business community is still facing challenges while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. He adds he’s looking to ways to help with recruitment and retention. “One of the things I think is most important is that we find a bipartisan solution to border security, to our broken immigration system, and to allow for greater legal immigration. That’ll help make sure we have a high-quality workforce going forward,” Senator Coons said.

The Senator wants to remind small business owners that there are many loan and grant opportunities still available.

Senator Coons says the over 500,000 jobs created nationally through the private sector in January means there is a chance the United States economy won’t go into a recession.
