Shots fired investigation leads to seizure of drugs in Seaford

1280 Seaford Drug Bust New

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police say a shots fired complaint led to the seizure of drugs and cash late Monday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m., officers responded to the area of State Street for a report of shots fired. Officers located shell casings from a handgun in the roadway and later found a bullet in the roadway down from the location of the shell casings.

While checking the area, officers found a front window at a residence that had damage. When officers went to take a closer look, they saw a large quantity of suspected marijuana sitting on the bed right in front of the window. Police say the homeowner eventually came to the door and told police that the room in question was her adult daughter’s room and that the adult daughter and her boyfriend were the victims of the shots fired.

Verbal consent was obtained from the daughter to search her room and vehicle, leading police to find approximately 4.4 pounds of psychedelic mushrooms, 6.6 pounds of marijuana, 1.1 pounds of THC wax, and $5,724 in cash.

The investigation is still ongoing. It was determined that no one was injured in this incident, and charges are pending for the possession of the non-narcotics.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Seaford Police at 302-629-6645 ext. 1217.
