Environmental group hopes to enact change by bringing voices of local leaders together
BETHANY BEACH, Del. – A newly formed group met at the Bethany Beach Library to further discuss how to improve water quality in Sussex County.
The Sussex Health Environmental Network held its inaugural meeting in December.
This is a coalition of local stakeholders concerned with water quality.
Their goal is to provide a platform for these concerned residents to amplify their voices and lend their voices in Dover to enact legislative change.
Topics discussed Saturday included private wells, wastewater treatment plants, spray fields and more.
“What this group can do is help ensure that we have a bright environmental future, not only for us, but for future generations to come and future businesses that are going to be here in a thriving economic and social environment,” said Michael Payan, communications for the group.
If you are interested in participating in this newly formed group, their next meeting will take place at the Milton Library on the first Saturday in February.
The group posts updates on its Facebook page.
