Update: Police investigating deadly pedestrian crash

DELMAR, Del. – One man is dead after an overnight pedestrian car crash. Now state police are investigating.

Officers say at 12:16 a.m. Saturday a 45 year-old Seaford man was driving northbound on U.S. Route 13 just north of Line Road.

33 year-old Brandon W. Kennedy from Delmar was trying to cross the highway on foot when the driver hit and killed him.

The driver came to a stop on the grass median, and Kennedy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say he was wearing dark clothes was not carrying a light at the time of the crash.

The driver was not impaired at time of crash, but police are still investigating if victim was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
