UPDATE: Seaford Police currently investigating shooting

Shooting Investigation

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police are investigating a shooting after two people were found with gunshot wounds.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched after reports of gunshots were heard in the area of the Woodland Mills Apartment complex. When police arrived, they found two 27-year-old victims who had been shot.

The victims were taken to a local hospital via private vehicles. We’re told one of the victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the second is in critical condition. Police say the suspects are still at large.

They say their criminal investigation team is still working to find evidence at the scene, but they were unable to find a suspect, and they say that’s why it’s so important that residents come forward anonymously with any information they may have.

“We understand that some people are scared about retaliation so even though we might not get information that evening they can always call any info they can offer giving us a lead on where we can go,” said Deputy Chief Micheal Rapa.

This is an ongoing investigation and police ask anyone with information to call the Seaford Police Department at 302-629-6648.

Deputy Chief Rapa also tells us the owner of the property has been working with police to make it a safer place, and hopes to install cameras and other measures to increase safety.
