Brad Gillis throws hat in the ring for Wicomico County Council at-large seat

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.- A Wicomico County native and former President of the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce is looking to claim one of the county council’s at-large seats with his announcement for election.

Brad Gillis says he’s heavily involved in the community and joining the council would be a great way to continue that service.

He tells 47ABC he’s focused on solving the local sewage problem, expanding broadband access, and advocating for the public school system.

Now as a business owner and chair of the Greater Salisbury Committee, he hopes his work in the community will give him a homecourt advantage. “That vision, that leadership, and the problem solving ability that I learned at the chamber, as a business owner, and community advocate. I’m excited to bring those skills sets to the county council and the legislative body,” Gillis said.

“I think I can do it, just flat out. I really do. I’d feel fortunate to be in a position to serve.”

Gillis tells us he’s also focused on filling vacancies within the county government. He says action and change can only happen with a full team.
