State Police stepping up patrol has holidays near
SALISBURY, Md. – As we get closer to Christmas and New Year’s, Maryland State Police will be stepping up their patrols on the roadways.
The extra holiday traffic will include additional state troopers working overtime who will focus on drunk driving, aggressive driving, speeding, and other violations that lead to tragedy this time of the year.
Among those assisting in the effort will be the State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort, who focus on reducing the amount of alcohol related crashes.
“And with the holiday season, that brings the risk of impaired drivers, fatality collisions, and our job is to reduce those,” said Cpl. Kristopher Phillips with Maryland State Police, Salisbury barrack.
Of course, if you are out celebrating during the holidays, be sure to have a designated driver.
