Caesar Rodney boys basketball gets back in win column over Cape

LEWES, Del.- Behind 18 points from senior captain Shaft Clark and a suffocating press, Caesar Rodney got back into the win column with a 57-38 victory over Cape Henlopen on Friday.

The Riders got out to a 10-0 run to open the game, but was quickly answered by the Vikings who retook the lead. There were seven lead changes in the second quarter along before halftime, where CR went into the locker room up 33-25.

In the second half, a 10-2 third quarter run from Coach Freeman Williams’ team was the difference, using a tough press to force Cape into numerous turnovers.

Following Clark was Zayquan Eaton with 11 points, and Jaden Corbett with eight.

For Cape Henlopen, four Vikings scored over seven points; Sh’Kai Chandler (9), Ja’Vaughn Burton (8), Kris Rushin (7) and Ethan Pires (7).
