Arrest made in connection to Salisbury shooting incident

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the shooting incident that occurred in Salisbury on Wednesday.

Police responded to the report shortly before noon, in the 200 block of Marshall Street. On arrival, officers met with a 36-year-old male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg, as well as another male identified as 36-year-old Kevin Corton.

The victim was treated at PRMC for a non-life threatening injury.

Through investigation, police were able to determine that Corton had reportedly discharged a firearm, which resulted in the victim’s injury. Police also learned that Corton was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Corton was arrested and charged with possession of ammunition/firearm as prohibited person, reckless endangerment, false statement, and obstructing and hindering.
