Locals kick off holiday season in Princess Anne

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The rain held off just long enough for the town to enjoy its annual holiday celebrations.

Along with floats and bands that paraded their way down Main Street, folks were able to enjoy pop up shops throughout the town, and get a look at a new business that opened up shop.

Holiday themed activities continued throughout the day with tours being offered of 15 historic homes throughout the town, followed by a candlelight reception at the Heackle Mansion.

“With the holiday house tour going on, having access to some of those properties is pretty spectacular, there are some beautiful homes. And there are properties and storefronts that are available here in Princess Anne, too,” said Carrie Samis, Main Street Princess Anne manager.

Princess Anne was just one of many communities across the peninsula putting on holiday festivities Saturday, there were also parades scheduled in places like Ocean City and Chincoteague.
