The Purnell family turns their tragic loss into a positive contribution to the community

After a double murder suicide this past September in Pocomoke City, the victims' family is turning this tragedy into positivity.

The family members of the Purnell's continued to host their "Be Good Community Dinner".

We're told this is something their deceased family members used to do.

Despite the recent tragedy, the family is making the best of the situation.

The annual dinner started in 2009, in order to give back to the community, which has given so much to them.

They offer a full meal and even proper resources for those who need help.

We spoke to a sibling of the victims, Renee Purnell Cooper, who says it heals the family during their grief to comfort others. Cooper says it is something they have to continue since the community needs it.

Cooper adds her father and sister would have really wanted the event to continue for the community.
