Shore Gives More campaign raises over $171K
SALISBURY, Md. – Giving Tuesday is officially over but here on the shore, we hit yet another record breaking amount of money raised for nearly 100 local non-profits.
The Shore Gives More campaign reached $171,970 in donations, which included 1500 donations to every non-profit that participated in the campaign.
It’s a campaign that showcases how the community comes together for their neighbors, a campaign that’s put on by the community and for the community.
“We saw donations all the way up to $10,000, but even just a couple hundred dollars raised by a bunch of people coming together for a local non-profit can make a huge difference in the impact that they can make and the services that they can provide to our community,” explains Victoria Kent of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore.
And while everyone received a donation, some really knocked it out of the park this year. Assateague Coastal trust raised $17,000 and Ocean City Development Corporation received nearly $13,000.
And for the second year in a row, the Grace Center for Maternal and Women’s Health raised nearly $9,000.
