Dorchester County prepares for holiday celebrations
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – With Christmas and Hanukkah right around the corner, Dorchester County is getting ready to kick off their holiday celebrations.
According to the Cambridge Economic Development Director Brandon Hesson, the county will usually kick off their holiday festivities with the lighting of two Christmas trees, one of them made entirely out of crab bushel baskets.
Hesson said the festivities are a chance for local businesses to make some extra money this time of year.
“The holidays in Downtown Cambridge are really huge and not just for very obvious reasons for Downtown business owners, but the downtown is really the heart of your community, and so all of our festivities happen here,” said Hesson.
There will also be a parade right at the heart of Downtown Cambridge on the first weekend of December a tradition more than 70 years in the making.
