Shore residents come out for 47th annual Turkey Bowl lacrosse game

For the 47th year in a row, the “Turkey Bowl” lacrosse game was held on the grounds of Glasgow Fields in Cambridge Maryland. Residents and out-of-towners came together once again to celebrate the great tradition.

“Its alot of old guys, and young guys coming out to get a chance to play the game, and have a good time, and have some good camaraderie,” said Steve Hurley, head boys lacrosse coach at Cambridge South Dorchester High School.

“Its always a good group of guys that come out, this game is not about being an All-American, this game is just about keeping up the tradition of lacrosse on the Eastern Shore,” said self-proclaimed 47-time game MVP Gene Robbins.

Official say the 40th Anniversary game in 2011 had over 200 players in attendance, and the 50th anniversary game in 2021 should have even more.
