Shopping for the perfect Christmas tree
HEBRON, Md. – Since it’s the season for shopping, 47 ABC ventured out to learn more about a local Christmas tree farm.
Nichols Tree Farm. in Hebron, has 17 species you can pick from. While the most popular type of tree varies by season, the favorite at Nichols right now is the “con-color” variety. Bruce Nichols, the farm’s owner, says that one has a citrus smell and some people claim they aren’t as allergic to it, as other types.
But they also offer a tree that can be planted in your yard, once Christmas is over.
“The only other thing is we sell ball trees too and that’s the ones that you put in the house, they’ve got a ball to them. And then you take the ball out after Christmas and plant it in the yard and you’ve got dual purpose. You’ve got a landscaping tree and you’ve got a Christmas tree. And you can decorate it in the yard for years to come,” said Nichols.
Nichols Tree Farm is open 7 days a week, whenever the sun is up. And if you don’t have a saw, don’t worry! They’ll loan you one.
