White Marlin Open wraps up Day 1

OCEAN CITY, Md–  This year 408 Boats entered with $8.6 million in estimated cash money prizes up for grabs.

For day one, 292 Boats set sail to grab some fish to try to win the millions.

With that amount of money up for grabs, you’ve even got celebrities competing.

NBA Legend Michael Jordan’s boat Catch 23, at one point was on the leader board with 78 pound tuna.

After day one, there are no white marlin or blue marlin placements but the tuna leaderboard is heavily contested.

Brian Stewart out of Shady Side is in the lead for the $1.3 million first place prize.
