Sussex Academy holds town hall meeting to create strategic plan

GEORGETOWN, Del. – School officials at Sussex Academy held a town hall meeting for parents on Tuesday to help create a plan that will ensure the charter school continues to grow. Eric Anderson, the new executive director says it’s time to start discussing the future of the academy. He says now that the academy is operating as a full high school for students he wants to focus on the next phase. Officials say the goal of the meeting is to create a plan, develop a process, and acquire the resources needed to see that goals are met. They add that it’s important that both parents and students come out to have their voices heard and bring their ideas to the table.

“I want to know what’s working, what’s not working, I’m fully a believer that it’s not my school, it’s not the teachers school it’s the kids school so we want to make sure that the programs and the opportunities that we offer are to the interest of the kids and their experience ,” said Anderson.

If you weren’t able to make it to the meeting tonight at the academy, school officials are holding another town meeting for the public to attend on Thursday November 15th at the South Coastal Library starting at 6:15 PM.
