TidalHealth, MAC partnering for HealthFest and Active Aging Expo
SALISBURY, Md. – TidalHealth is partnering with MAC, Inc. to offer HealthFest and the Active Aging Expo later this month.
The event for all ages is scheduled for Saturday, June 11th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The hospital’s annual health fair is being held in conjunction with MAC’s 50th anniversary community celebration and Active Aging Expo at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, in the Normandy Arena.
We’re told the expo will feature more than 60 exhibitors, information, presentation and demonstrations, entertainment, door prizes, and more. TidalHealth clinical professionals will be in the Flanders Room with a showcase of exhibits and free screenings to anyone who wants to learn how healthy they are and what they can do to lead an even healthier and more productive and active lifestyle.
Some of the services offered at no cost include blood pressure testing and body mass index, fall risk testing, diabetes assessment, and A1C blood draws for those scoring high on the risk test.
Additionally, for the first time in its history, HealthFest will be joined by the Blood Bank of Delmarva for a local blood drive. The need for blood of all types is at a critical level; those interested in donating can pre-register here.
MAC is officially celebrating its 50th anniversary with their Active Aging Expo, which will start with a one-mile Soles for Seniors Walk. Registration and check-in will begin at 8 a.m., with the walk starting at 9 a.m. The walk will conclude with awards and breakfast at 10 a.m. Teams are forming, and officials say individual walkers are also welcome.
The Active Aging Expo is free to all and will offer information about the many resources available at MAC, as well as speakers, demonstrations, raffles, door prizes, entertainment, and much more.
