Sights and Sounds: 2018 Governor’s Challenge Media Day

The Governor’s Challenge held their annual media day on Thursday, November 1st at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center. The Wicomico Parks and Recreation staff welcomed in over 15 local teams, along with media members into the main arena of the venue as program director James Simmons announced new wrinkles added to this year’s tournament.

An alumni challenge was introduced that will see players of championship teams on the Eastern Shore compete in a tournament on December 22nd. Simmons also announced that Veritas Prep (Los Angeles, CA), ranked 24th in the country by PrepCircuit.com, would be taking the 2,700+ mile trip to Salisbury to become the Gov. Challenge’s first west coast team.

Now in its 36th year, the Governor’s Challenge promises to be even better in 2018. Take a look at some of the best sights and sounds of this year’s media day.
