Delmar Field Hockey Stays Perfect, Tops Polytech

The Delmar field hockey team picked up another conference win Thursday afternoon after they topped Polytech 2-1. The win improves the Wildcats to 8-0, while the loss drops the Panthers to 6-2.
The Wildcats would grab the early lead after Caitlyn Wink would send a pass over to Peyton Kemp who would fire one into the back of the cage just under 6 minutes into the match. The lead would hold til the midway point of the first half. Polytech would draw a corner and Madilyn McKay would send a pass to Camryn Dennis who would fire one in near post. The ‘Cats would have a quick answer at the other end though, as they would draw yet another corner, and this time Wink would find Ashlyn Carr for a strike at the top of the box. Delmar would head into the break with a one goal lead, and look to stretch it in the second half. They would attack the cage and draw corner after corner, finishing with 33 in the game. But the Panthers defense would help keep them in the game as Holly Rembold would come up with one great save after another. Delmar would dominate the possession though, and be able to run out the clock for the road win.
Delmar returns to action on Tuesday when they host Laurel, while the Panthers travel to Sussex Central on Tuesday.
