Seaford shooting incident under investigation

SEAFORD, Del. – Delaware State Police say they are investigating a reported shooting incident that took place Monday evening.

At approximately 11:30 PM, troopers responded to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for a report of a victim that had been shot. On arrival, a 26-year-old male from Seaford told police that he was visiting a friend in the 24000 block of German Road when he heard a sound that resembled gun fire while standing in the front yard. When the victim took off running, he realized he had been shot in his lower extremity.

The victim reportedly transported himself to the hospital, where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury and released.

47 ABC spoke to one neighbor who is shocked by this incident saying, “Very quiet neighborhood, no problem with anything you know, not in 17 years. I didn’t know about it until I got the phone call but I feel secure. I have good neighbors, you know, no problem at all around here that I know of I’m sure it was just a miscellaneous incident.”
