Local animal emergency room debuts new facility
SALISBURY, Md. – Local pet owners on the lower eastern shore of Maryland probably know that Pet’s ER is the only Emergency Room for dogs and cats in the area. Wednesday was a monumental day for the organization, as they cut the ribbon on a brand new facility that will double their capacity.
After 15 years, they are now moving to 402 Punkin Court in Salisbury. This is the only facility on the lower eastern shore that is open every night, weekend and holiday to pets who need medical attention.
We’re told they outgrew the old building and this gives them more space to care for local animals in need.
“It is great for the community, and actually also for the veterinarians in the area. Because they’re allowed to close their doors in the evening and know that their clients have somewhere to bring their pets that are going to care for them. And you don’t have to drive over the bridge, you can stay right here in the community,” said Mary Jane St. Lawrence, practice manager at Pet’s ER.
Now everything is being moved from the old location to their new location overnight. The new facility will be up and running and ready to take patients when they open tomorrow night at 6 PM.
