Dover Days canceled due to impending weather
DOVER, Del. – Due to the impending weather this weekend, Dover Days has been canceled.
We’re told that the decision was made based on forecasted rain and wind gusts. Chris Cooper, President of the Dover Days Celebration Committee, says that vendors have to set up tents to protect their goods from the weather, and wind gusts could cause tents and other items to become projectiles that could cause injuries.
Officials say some area activities will still be taking place, including the tours at Legislative Hall, Woodburn, and the John Bullen House. Additionally, the Wesley Church will hold its annual pancake breakfast and bake sale, with doors opening at 7 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m. noon.
