Del. probationer arrested after being found in possession of drugs, guns

MILLSBORO, Del. – A probationer is behind bars following a search late last week.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Friday morning, troopers responded to the 28000 block of Mount Joy Road in Millsboro to help Probation and Parole officers with an administrative probation search of Christopher Smith’s property. During the search, probation officers found a shotgun, a rifle, approximately 10.52 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 1.68 grams of cocaine, numerous rounds of ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and more than $3,600 in suspected drug money.

Police say Smith is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition, and four juveniles were also found to be living at the property.

Smith was held at SCI on a $159,001 cash bond after being charged with numerous drug and firearm charges, in addition to four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
