Will’s Carnival for a Cause event raises money for families affected by terminal illness
LAUREL, Del. – A 16 year old and his family invited the community to take part in a good cause on Sunday through their annual Carnival For A Cause Event.
Will Kenney is the mastermind behind the effort.
He started raising money for all sorts of special causes at just 11 years old.
Sunday’s carnival supports the Alana Rose Foundation, a foundation dedicated to helping families struggling financially due to terminal illness.
With obstacle courses like hay mazes and even delicious barbecue food, Kenney said he hopes the event will help to raise thousands of dollars.
“I heard about [The Alana Rose Foundation] through Facebook, and I followed the story from when the child was first born till her passing, and it was inspiring to see how they were helping other people and families while they were at the Ronald McDonald House,” said Kenney.
“So, I wanted to do something that would impact someone locally,” said Kenney.
Kenny also said that all proceeds will be used for parents who need help to pay for gas and utilities so that they may focus on what really matters – their child in need.
