Millsboro man arrested on 10th DUI
MILLSBORO, Del. – A Millsboro man is behind bars after being charged with his 10th DUI Thursday morning.
At around 11:20 a.m., troopers responded to Main Street south of Daisey Road for a report of a white Dodge Ram that hit a fence. It was also reported that the driver was trying to flee the scene on foot. Troopers found the driver, identified as 54-year-old Charles Smith, walking just south of the crash scene. The odor of alcohol was detected on contact with Smith, and a DUI investigation ensued.
A computer check revealed that Smith’s drivers’ license was revoked and that he had been arrested on DUI offenses nine previous times.
Smith was held at SCI on a $15,500 cash bond after being charged with felony DUI, leaving the scene of a property collision accident, driving while suspended or revoked, and other traffic charges.
