Local schools receive funds for art programs
BETHANY BEACH, Del. – The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce recently presented five local art teachers with a check to be used for their classrooms.
The chamber hosted their Business After Hours Family Night Out on September 26th, where they presented a $500 check to each of the teachers to help with supplies and other items needed for their classrooms.
The schools receiving the funds included John M. Clayton Elementary School, Lord Baltimore Elementary School, Philip C. Showell Elementary School, Southern Delaware School of the Arts, and Selbyville Middle School.
The funds are typically raised through the annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival, however, this year’s event was canceled due to high winds and thunderstorms.
In addition to the check presentation, the event raised money for several other local organizations.
