Berlin house fire claims life of family dog, officials say

BERLIN, Md. – A weekend house fire in Berlin claimed the life of a family dog.

We’re told firefighters responded to 10016 Carey Road at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Smoke was found coming from the attic of the home, and two family dogs were found inside of the residence. One of the dogs sadly perished as a result of the fire.

Fire investigators determined that the fire was accidental and began in a clothes dryer in the laundry room. No other injuries were reported.
