welcome back… time for some sports. hayley, its an exciting timefor many young athletes on the shore as they sign their letters of intent to play in college. yeah, and i’ll tell you what… we’re going to have so many athletes to follow at colleges across the nation next year which is great… some more signings to announce! yesterday three james m bennett baseball players signed their letters of intent to play d1 ball. cade hurley is heading the the university of south carolina at sumter. grayson winterbottom is taking his talents to the university of charleston in west virginia. and kaleb cline will head to juco harford community college. congrats to all three clippers… and they’ve still got their senior seasons ahead of them so folks around salisbury will still have the chance to see them in actions before they head off to play in college… although these guys can’t wait to get to campus. it feels great. it feels like all the hard work i put in is finally paying off and i just want to thank everyone for supporting me all the way there. im looking forward to being down south in hot weather, and finding better competition. the salisbury university sea gulls may have missed out on the ncaa playoffs.. but they’ve got one more game on the schedule. su was selected to play in the legacy bowl as part of the eastern college athletic conferences division 3 football fest. the 7-3 gulls will take on carnagie mellon university this sunday at 11 am at franklin field in philadelphia. this will be the program’s 8th bowl game appearance. the program boasts a 5-2 bowl game record. the two teams have met three times before, and the gulls own the 2-1 series edge. it’s a huge day for soccer in delaware, as two boys semi final games will be played tonight at dover high school. spenser tilus is standing by with a preview. spenser? that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page at 47abc.com
