HALO in need of blankets after influx of people

SALISBURY, Md. – In Salisbury, HALO is asking for the community’s help after they’ve been seeing an uptick of people and serving upwards of 100 guests these past six weeks. Just to give you an idea of how many people they are serving; they usually serve 200 meals but currently they are making almost 260.

They say they can’t explain the sudden increase but they have made arrangements by adding 14 beds. HALO says they’re running low on blankets and desperately need more for twin and double-sized beds.

HALO Executive Director, Celeste Savage says, “They are starting to shred since they are being used so much. We are just completely out of blankets except for what we have on the bed right now. We do not have one extra blanket in the place. So we are in desperate need of blankets.”

We’re told you can drop the blankets off at the shelter at anytime. If you donate it during the day, you can also get a tour of the facility to see where your donation is heading to.
