GEORGETOWN, Del. – The American Heart Association (AHA) of Southern Delaware is hosting a heart walk coming up on Saturday, October 13th.

This walk creates a fun and rewarding environment for those affected by heart disease, as well as supporters of the disease.

Heart disease is our nation’s #1 killer, taking nearly a million American lives each year. This is more than all forms of cancer combined. The goal of this walk is to raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association.

We’re told all funds will go towards research and education and will move AHA towards their 2020 mission goal of reducing cardiovascular deaths and stroke by 20% while also improving the health of all Americans by 20% by the year 2020.

The walk is scheduled to take place at Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus, in Georgetown. Check-in begins at 8 AM, with the walk kicking off at 9 AM. If you would like more information about the walk or to register, you may do so on their website here.
