Police charge two for connection to illegal drug sales in Rehoboth Beach area

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested two men after conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales.

Friday afternoon, members of Sussex Governor’s Task Force (GTF) were contacted by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force the Sussex Governor’s Task Force who arrested Gregory Lawson-Hixon, a 29 year-old of Rehoboth Beach man and Dante Cilia, a 30 year-old Milton man.

Police found the men sitting in a Chevrolet Suburban in the Surf Bagel parking lot at Rehoboth Beach.

Wanted after fleeing from the task force back in August, Lawson-Hixon had multiple active warrants for his arrest after police seized narcotics and money from his vehicle, authorities say.

His warrants included felony drug dealing and failure to appear in court.

Investigators witnessed multiple hand-to-hand drug deals happen from the Suburban as it was parked, and took the men into custody.

Police say both men were in possession of contraband and large amounts of money and were taken into custody without incident.

Lawson-Hixon allegedly had approximately 43 Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine 30 mg pills, 23 Suboxone strips and over $2,400 in his possession. Cilia had one Suboxone strip and over $1,050 in his possession, according to police.

After conducting a vehicle search with legal consent, police found:

  • 63 grams of cocaine
  • 41 grams of marijuana
  • 50 candy THC ropes
  • 41 THC injectors
  • 6 THC cigars
  • 5 THC vapor oils
  • 108 Oxycodone pills
  • 68 Amphetamine pills
  • Over $7,000
  • Drug paraphernalia (packaging/distributing/weighing materials)

Lawson-Hixon was charged with:

  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) cocaine in a tier 2 quantity
  • Possession of cocaine in a tier 3 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) Amphetamine in a tier 2 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) Amphetamine in a tier 4 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) Oxycodone in a tier 4 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) marijuana edibles
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) marijuana
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) Suboxone
  • Possession marijuana in a tier 1 quantity
  • Conspiracy 2nd
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Cilia was charged with:

  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) cocaine in a tier 2 quantity
  • Possession of cocaine in a tier 3 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) Amphetamine in a tier 4 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) Oxycodone in a tier 4 quantity
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) marijuana edibles
  • Possession with the intent to deliver (PWITD) marijuana
  • Posssession of Suboxone
  • Possession marijuana in a tier 1 quantity
  • Conspiracy 2nd
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Lawson-Hixon was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $331,107 cash bond.

Cilia was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $293,200 cash bond.
