1280 Princess Anne House Fire

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Fire officials say a fireplace failure is to blame for a fire that destroyed a home in Somerset County.

The fire was reported shortly after midnight Wednesday, in the 10000 block of Charles Boston Road. Nearly 50 firefighters responded to the 2-alarm blaze, which was controlled in approximately 50 minutes.

State fire marshals responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, determining that the fire was accidental in nature and caused by the failure of the home’s fireplace. Total damage has been estimated at $650,000.
