Arrest made in connection to September 8th shooting
The Dover Police Department has made an arrest following a shooting at a large house party that took place last month.
According to officials, 22-year-old Marquis Harris of Dover was identified as a suspect in the September 8th incident and was officially arrested without incident on Tuesday, October 2nd.
Just before 2:30 AM on September 8th, officers were called to respond to the unit block of Nicholas Drive for a report of shots fired. Officials learned that a large party was in progress at the residence, and a large fight broke out in the front yard. During the fight, Harris reportedly fired multiple rounds into the crowd.
A 20-year-old female victim and male victim were struck in the back and taken to Bayhealth Kent General for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Harris was charged with 2 counts of first degree assault, possession of firearm during commission of a felony, first degree reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Insititute in default of $81,000 cash bond.
