Rehoboth Beach Police participating in prescription take-back initiative
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – The Rehoboth Beach Police Department has announced the return of their joint effort with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), state and local law enforcement to support the National Prescription Take-Back Initiative.
The initiative gives the public a chance to turn in any expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other various medications to law enforcement to be destroyed.
This program also gives an opportunity for law enforcement to create a safe collection site for all Americans, regardless of where they live.
The next local take-back day is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, October 26th and 27th, in the lobby of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department, located at 229 Rehoboth Avenue. Collection will take place from 10 AM to 2 PM both days.
Collection is free and open to the public – no appointment is necessary. Law enforcement will supervise the collection. Participants may dispose of medication in its original container by crossing out personal information, or by removing the medication from its container and putting it directly into the disposal box.
The program is entirely anonymous, meaning no questions or requests of identification will be made. Medication will not be counted or logged.
If you would like more information, you are asked to contact the Rehoboth Beach Police Department at 302-227-2577.
