Shooting Investigation

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police are investigating a shots fired incident they say happened late Wednesday night.

At around 11:45 p.m., an officer reportedly tried to stop a vehicle on Stein Highway heading eastbound. The vehicle failed to stop and continued onto Pine Street, before stopping near the intersection of Pine Street and 5th Street. Once the vehicle stopped, two subjects got out of the vehicle and fled in different directions.

A perimeter was set up by Seaford units while waiting for DSP and a DSP K-9 Unit to respond. As officers were holding the perimeter, a single gunshot was reportedly heard coming from the 4th Street area, but nothing was found during a search of the area.

Police are asking anyone with information on this incident to contact D/Sgt. Matt Mills at 302-629-6648.
