Stevie Ray honored during second annual Ride For Pride

Saturday was the perfect day to put up the kick stand rev the engine and ride your bike down the highway, especially if you were a part of today’s ride for pride event.

Bikes participating have to pay to register, and the money raised goes to help Operation We Care, whose mission is to send care packages to troops stationed overseas.

The ride for pride this year was in honor of fallen Wicomico Sheriff’s deputy Stevie Ray.  This year’s ride took on a whole new meaning with the dedication of the event to Ray.

“Because we’re such a tight-knit community down here and we have limited resources.  We got to work together a lot, and Stevie always had 100 percent energy he was so excited to do stuff.  I really do appreciate his service back to his community and how much he gave back, especially with the kids over at Mardela,” said Lt. Ed Schreier with the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office.

If you weren’t able to make it out to today’s event, you can donate to Operation We Care’s website.
